Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders & Exhibitors Association of Washington has created an open breed youth program. This program is open youth ages 6 to 18 of all disciplines.
Peninsula Youth Riders at this time operates in parts of Pierce and Kitsap county. The leaders are made up of a Director, Adviser, and a council of elected youth members.
Peninsula Youth Riders is here to empower, encourage and educate the youth of our area. Our goals are to:
Empower our youth with a thriving learning environment.
Encourage mentoring throughout our equine community while encouraging our youth to explore and strive to achieve their goals.
Educate our youth with a diverse knowledge and skill base that will grow with them into adulthood
Group Lessons: To assist riders and their equine partners with developing and growing their relationship and communication, while also enjoying collaboration with others.
Clinics: To provide a structured and safe learning environment. Examples of clinic subjects are: nutrition, first aid, ground manners, grooming, hoof/foot care, etc..
Fun show/Horse shows: We either put on or go to events that have a discounted rate for our member to be able to participate. These events work to build confidence and an opportunity to show what they have been learning and practicing. They can use these opportunities to set goals and a plan to achieve those goals
Social Events: That's right! We like to get together for FUN!
